Antique American Wooden Steam Bent Oak 4 Runner Racing Racer Snow Sled

Description

An antique / vintage American (?) oak wood 4 runner racing / racer snow sled.  This was designed for speed and I have never seen one like it before. The steam bent oak runners have steel rails for positive turning traction in the snow via the dual handle bars, and the oak frame and bed slats are surrounded by an aluminum safety railing.  Dual brake handles on the right and left side make stopping much easier if you go too fast and the steel nose cone increases speed and improves the aerodynamic coefficient while helping to keep ice deflected from the rider.
It is an awesome sled which can be used after some tuneup and maintenance work, or as a decorator piece in a home or ski lodge.  Overall dimensions are approximately 49" long, 19" wide, and 12" high.
This is being sold to benefit the Pauma Valley Community Center, and its purchase is tax deductible to the extent permissible.  It is a best offer listing on behalf of the Center, so let us know what you would like to pay.
If needed, we can provide local delivery to your home in Southern California for a reasonable fee or ship via Greyhound Bus if the buyer pays the costs.
The Pauma Valley Community Center and Sports Park is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) facility serving the residents of Pauma Valley, Rincon, Valley Center, and the surrounding communities as a primarily free public benefit park for over 70 years. We receive no Federal, State, County, or City funds for our operating expenses and depend solely on donations from the public. With the passing away of most of our supporters, never ending inflation, high water and electric bills, and ongoing maintenance costs we need a lot of help. We need a blood transfusion of donors, members, patrons, sponsors, volunteers and corporate benefactors. We also need a dual axle dump trailer, John Deere or Kubota type skip loader / backhoe tractor and box grader, zero turn riding mower, large 8' x 11' American flag, paint and putty, etc. We have real bathrooms at the park, not porta potties so commercial rolls of toilet paper and paper towels would be a blessing.
