this knife is ready to get the job done. The rayskin is wrapped and glued over a carved wooden core to create the unique scales on this knife. In this case the rayskin (the material used to wrap the handles of best Samurai Swords) is extremely grippy and has a rough finish. Very few of these made and were apparently shipped to my distributor by mistake, instead of the version with polished black rayskin scales. The blade spine and back spacer are hand carved. The blade is hand crafted from Bohler N690Co stainless steel with Z40C13 stainless liner lock frame.  A padded nylon canvas pouch with embroidered Citadel logo is included.

The Citadel are the first folding knives I've carried. In general I preferred fixed blades because I felt like they were stronger and more effective for almost any task. Not so! I got a couple of these because they were recommended and they're phenomenal, rock solid. You really have to handle one to appreciate the construction. Plus they're lovingly crafted in every detail if you study close-up photos. Recommended. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm a collector and a weekend warrior.
