On February 20, 2018 Emerson released four of these Sig Legion Prototype Flipper to only members and sold as a part of the “Emerson Area 51” This was one hand ground and assembled by
Ernest Emerson himself. This model was made as a collaboration between Emerson and Sig. The Legion Trailing Tanto by Ernest Emerson features a DLC coated blade, as well as a textured grip tape handle featuring the SIG Legion Chevron. This flipper knife also features a self-deploying Emerson 'Wave Opening' for fast tactical deployment. Ernest Emerson first introduced the Sig Legion Flipper Folder at the 2015 Shot Show in Las Vegas NV. With the exception of the few customs like this that he makes just for the lotteries, I believe the production of the Legion Trailing Tanto production is exclusive and only sold by Sig Sauer to only Legion Members Only. This custom Emerson flipper has the new GTC bearing system. This has a Beadblasted Titanium Bolsters with Titanium liners. This knife is the one that is most sought after by all the Emerson Collectors because in addition to the wave feature for fast out of the pocket deployment, the flipper makes it fast to open when the knife is in your hands or you can just the thumb disk to open this manually. Ih ave personally talked to Ernest Emerson about these prototype and these are not a gimmick but actual real prototypes. He makes all these by hand and hand grinds and assembles each one. This one of his larger customs where the blade is about 3.6"  and the overall is about 8.8" so if you have a larger hand or like larger knives, this may fit you nicely. This has a V-ground blade with a Asymmetrical Edge that is what Ernest Emerson is known for! This knife is the one that is most sought after by all the Emerson Collectors from around the world and in the military. This knife was hand ground and hand made by Ernie Emerson himself. This has a  Black DLC coated Blade made from 154CM steel. This one has the wave feature which has made Emerson Knives they company they are today allowing for fast opening as you withdraw this from your pocket. This has a Black G10 handles over Black Coated Titanium Liners ! There were only 4 of these made and thus sought after by all the Emerson Collectors from around the world and in the military. This has a very strong detent and when release it flies out almost like it was thrust bearings but this one uses the GTC Stainless Bearings. Solid early vault like lockup with no blade play in any direction with a centered blade. This has the "Prototype" marked on the blade right under the Wave feature. I really love the new action and features on Emerson's new flippers. This has an ultra smooth flipping action that rides on ball bearings with a strong detent to prevent it from accidentally opening in your pocket. Solid early lockup with a centered blade. This one is Brand New purchased directly from Emerson Knives and from my personal collection. This is Brand New: never used, carried or sharpened. This will come with the factory box that I had Ernest Emerson hand autograph, plastic baggie, Emerson Knives sticker and pamphlet.
