D Series Antique Flexible Flyer Racer Sled RARE a beauty!

Description

Great old Sled.  It is a Series D Racer.  In very good original condition with only very minor paint loss. It is 56" tall.
Rare 1920s Flexible Flyer Racer Antique D Series Snow Sled.
The colors are vibrant and the writing is legible.
Background: The Flexible Flyer Sled was first patented in 1889 by S. L. Allen Co. of Philadelphia, PA. Through the years they had several different Series “B, C, E, F G”, but around 1928 some Racer models have been observed with a D Series on them, however, the D Series is not well established therefore making the D series Flexible Flyer Racers rare and more valuable.  The center slat features the logo of a sled with an Eagle red banner in its mouth on which the words “Flexible Flyer” are set against a blue background. On the side slats the word “Racer” is written in a gentle arc
in red letters with a dark outline.
