In some respects, it looks like an Art Knife, while the design itself is quite Tactical in nature.
Look at just how precise his knives are.
They are without a doubt some of the most beautiful and elegant tactical knives we have come across.
Get one of these in hand and you will see for yourself how excellent custom knives can be.
The blade is made from S30V stainless steel with a nice hand rubbed satin finish and excellent thumb ramp design.
The ergonomic handle is made from milled titanium with a brushed satin finish
with
part of the jeweled titanium liner showing through in a circular cutout near the back.
The liners are not skeletonized so this design does not jeopardize strength in any way.
The lockup is extremely solid with no play in any direction and the lock bar is supremely easy to disengage. The action is super smooth, and the pocket clip is very stout.
Keith currently does not take orders
Keith Ouye is a Hawaiian custom knifemaker who makes fantastic pieces of usable art. He began in 2004 under the tutelage
of Stan Fujisaka and moved full-time in 2005.
Just looking at his knives you can tell Keith has a prodigious amount of skill in both manufacturing and design.
The flipper mechanism on Keith Ouye's knives will take a little bit of getting used to. It is extremely smooth and works great but the way it is designed, you must get your index finger clear of the blade tang when flipping it open. To do this, Keith recommends you hold the blade lower in your hand and be sure to drag your index finger down toward the spine in one motion. In my experience, if you follow your finger toward the spine of the knife instead of letting it stop inside the grooved area, you are good to go.
