View book and history (9 ¼” by 12”) of Milford, Connecticut, published by the Peck Publishing Co. of Stratford, Connecticut, circa 1912. The book has a total of 52 pages (unnumbered) with nearly half of the pages being advertisements set in the front and back of the volume, many of them illustrated. The rest of the contents related to the history of the town and its institutions. There are dozens of pages with illustrations of houses and buildings in Milford, including sections on the fire departments, the churches, the schools, the beaches, etc. Most of these pages have at least three and often five illustrations each. The Milford Businessman’s Association probably commissioned the publication at it was available in soft cover (like this) for 25 cents and cloth bound for 75 cents. The latest date mentioned that I saw was 1912. I did a little research on it but could not find another copy. The booklet is in only good condition with light wear and soiling. The binding staples are rusted and the center page is detached from them. The booklet is complete and the interior pages are clean and free of tears and major stains. The name Evalyn Treat is written twice on the cover. A nice early view book and history of Milford CT!
