Vintage roll-up pituitary gland and pancreas educational diagnostic chart from 1945.
The artwork was done by Rudolph Schick who was responsible for so many of the great collectible medical charts of the time.
Medical charts depicting the human figure are always more collectible and this would certainly be no different.
Depicting six different body types and how pituitary issues can affect them as well as a handful of other interesting plates, this chart is a stunner.
At 76 years old this teaching chart (which I was told came out of a medical school in Ohio) is not without wear.  Picture 11 highlights the worst of the crackling, and in picture 10 I wanted to point out that there are some pieces of tape that are mainly unnoticeable.  Obviously a teacher at some point has gone and labeled each of the pictures, but I don't think that it detracts too much from the overall aesthetic of it.
Perhaps it makes it all the more genuine.
I have always been drawn to oddities and when I saw this chart I knew I couldn't leave it behind.  I'm glad it was part of my collection and I'm happy to offer it to you as part of your collection.
So whether it's old medical charts that you specifically collect or just oddities that stand out when you see them, I think you will be plenty pleased with this lovely ~27"x~41" fabric-backed piece of medical history.
